The W.A Kribs Co. started it all as a lumber mill in late 1860. The first washing tubs were produced in 1902 in the Guelph Avenue plant. The company was sold to McGraw-Edison, then Canadian Admiral & finally to Inglis. The company closed in 1981 but is still fondly remembered by former employees who still talk about the good old days when everything wasn't made in China.
