Brant's Crossin, Wilfrid Laurier/Mohawk Environmental Group is holding an Environmental Festival behind the Brantford Casino, along the banks of the Grand River on June 3, 2006. We welcome the community to come out and join us in our celebration. From 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. all involved will hike along the banks of the river to pick up untold amounts of litter. At 12:00 p.m. an appreciation BBQ lunch will be provided for all participants that helped in the clean up. Trinity United Church, 74 Frederick Street , Latitudes Storytelling Festival is a free festival highlighting stories from around the world. Stories are the threads that weave the tapestry of our community. They pass on traditions. They educate. They entertain. Stories celebrate culture and heritage. Held on June 10, 2006, at Trinity United Church, 74 Frederick St., Kitchener, Latitudes is a non-religious festival that celebrates Trinityâ s 100 years as a landmark in downtown Kitchener. Smudging ceremony at 9, programme from 10am to 5pm. We are pleased to have Susie Minto joining us from Co. Leitrim, Ireland. Rhea Green is our Iroquoian storyteller, and Adwoa Badoe of Guelph will bring us tales of Ghana. There will be a childrenâ s area (a festival within a festival), and a storybook exchange between two local cultural schools. James Gordon, singer-songwriter and activist, will tell tales to adults and children alike. There will be a theatre performance, and a short-story-in-a-day contest organized by Kitchener Public Library. There will be celebrity guest book readings, including John Milloy, MPP for Kitchener Centre, who will read his favourite childrenâ s book.
