River Run Center , Back by audience demand, Windjammers spectacular concert, War and Remembrance, features popular and martial music of the two World Wars, with a concentration on WWII. A colour guard will participate in a special mini cenotaph service with the Last Post, the Rouse, and a piper playing a lament. Join special guests, actor Ted Follows, who will narrate In Flanders Fields, High Flight and The Deep; Dinah Christie, who will sing a Vera Lynn Medley; The Irvine Sisters, who perform four of The Andrews Sistersâ big hits; and the Bluevale Collegiate Choir, all while big screen video clips illustrate the music and the armed forces at war. Windjammers conductor Harry Currie says that a few selections will be new, but all are in keeping with the theme of the concert. Tickets for veterans will be half price, and veterans are encouraged to wear decorations, military or Legion uniforms.
