A fascinating display that travels through the history of our beautiful township, beginning with fossils from pre-historic times, to Native artifacts, pioneer pieces, all the way to Victorian "trash." The exhibit will highlight William John Wintemberg born in New Dundee, who was the first archaeologist in Canada to study the various aboriginal cultures of Ontario scientifically and was long recognized as the leading authority on that subject. | July 1, 2008 Stratford, Stratford’s Canada Day Celebration Market Square in Downtown Stratford, An annual party to celebrate Canada’s birthday. Offered by the Stratford City Centre Committee, the afternoon features live entertainment including singing, dancing and local celebrities. The Stratford Festival and the City of Stratford present “Bronze Stars” to commemorate people who have added to the unique fabric that makes Stratford a wonderful place to live, work and play. A food pavilion offers food for sale as well as free popcorn.
